It knows the... touch of a friendly hand,
and symbolizes….you’ll understand….
All things I found both good and fine in my happy days with the mystic Shrine. My old red Fez has faded a bit; But I’m still mighty ...

There will be a joint Scottish Rite and Shrine Ceremonial August 16th & 17th at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Shreveport.  This would be a great time to consider joining the Scottish Rite if you are not already a member.

All Nobles and Ladies are invited to attend a dinner, Saturday, August 16th at 7:30 pm. at El Karubah Shrine.  El Karubah is hosting this dinner in honor of the Shrine and Scottish Rite Candidates.

What is brotherhood? If you were to ask ten people what their definition of brotherhood is, you would likely receive ten different answers. Webster’s Dictionary defines brotherhood as an association of men united in a common interest, work, creed, etc. Being part of a brotherhood as unique as ours can’t easily be explained or defined, it must be experienced to fully understand and appreciate it. Potentate El Karubah 2015

Chartered on May 13, 1914, El Karubah Shrine celebrated its Centennial this past year, and has begun it’s 2nd 100 Years of Having Fun Helping Kids! Our slogan for 2015 is "Preserving Our Heritage". And, what a great heritage we have to preserve at El Karubah. In 1922, members of El Karubah Shrine initiated and built the very first Shriners Hospital for Children right here in Shreveport, Louisiana. The founding fathers of our Temple throughout its history have been a virtual Who’s Who of our area. The annual projects and programs sponsored by El Karubah continue to benefit all of Louisiana.

We are located at 6230 S. Lakeshore Drive in Shreveport, Louisiana, with a gorgeous view from our Temple sitting on a hill along the shore of Cross Lake. We have ample parking, playground area for the children, and piers to fish or just enjoy the view. A fraternity of Master Masons who want to have fun and help children, we meet on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7 P.M. Our Temple is also available for rentals for weddings, meetings, dances, and parties. If you would like more information on renting our facility, please call our office at 318-631-1594.

Please check our Calendar and Events section often. There are many functions planned for the membership this year, and we don’t want you to miss a single opportunity to have fun with us. Many of our functions are geared for the entire family, and we feel you will see several that you would like to be a part of.

For more information about how you can be a Shriner, rental information for the facility, or to keep abreast of whats happening at YOUR Temple, contact the office at 318-651-1594, or go to beashrinernow.com.
